محاضرة للمتروبوليت هيلاوريون في معهد البلمند

لمناسبة يوبيله الخمسين في التعليم العالي، تشرّف معهد القديس يوحنا الدمشقي اللاهوتي، في جامعة البلمند باستضافة سيادة المتروبوليت هيلاريون مطران فولوكولامسك ضمن سلسلة محاضرات اليوبيل. المتروبوليت هيلاوريون هو عضو في المجمع الأعلى للكنيسة الروسيّة الأرثوذكسيّة ورئيس قسم العلاقات الخارجية في بطريركية موسكو، كما هو أستاذ في الجامعات المرموقة حول العالم، وكاتب غزير، تُقدَّر أعماله الكتابيّة بحوالي 700 مقالة وكتاب في اللاهوت الآبائيّ، والعقيدة، وتاريخ الكنيسة، إلى جانب ترجمة أعمال الآباء القدّيسين من اليونانيّة والسريانيّة.
قدّم للمتروبوليت هيلاريون عميد المعهد قدس الأرشمندريت يعقوب خليل الذي لعب أيضًا دور المشرف. أمّا المحاضرة فحملت عنوان "استعلان سرّ والدة الإله في كتابات القديس يوحنا الدمشقيّ اللاهوتيّة"، وقد أضاء فيها سيادة المتروبوليت على جوانب جوهريّة من كتابات القدّيس يوحنّا الدمشقيّ تبرز سرّ وادلة الإله الدائمة البتوليّة مريم.
نُقلت المحاضرة مباشرة على منصّات التواصل التابعة للمعهد، بمشاهدة حشد من الأستذة والموظّفين والطلاّب، والمتخرّجين، وعدد من المهتمّين حول العالم.
Metropolitan Hilarion’s Lecture in Balamand

For the occasion of its Golden Jubilee of higher education, St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology at the University of Balamand was deeply honored to host His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Volokolamsk for a keynote lecture. Metropolitan Hilarion is a member of the Supreme Church Council of the Russian Orthodox Church, and the Chairman of the Department of External Church Relations, Patriarchate of Moscow. He is also Professor at several prestigious Universities all over the world, and a prolific writer who has authored over 700 publications including monographs on patristics, dogmatic theology and church history. He also translated works by Church Fathers from Greek and Syrian.
The Dean Rt Rev. Archimandrite Jack Khalil introduced and moderated Metropolitan Hilarion’s lecture titled: “The Revelation of the Mystery of the Mother of God in the Theological Works of St. John of Damascus.” In this lecture, His Eminence highlighted the essential aspects of the writings of the St. John of Damascus that unveil the mystery of the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary. The lecture was broadcasted live globally on the Institute’s social media sites, and was attended by the faculty, staff, students, alumni, and many interested people throughout the world.
