With the blessing of His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, the St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology celebrated the annual Greek Language Day in the presence of the Greek Ambassador to Beirut, Ms. Despina Koukoulopoulou. Present was also the President of the League of Lebanese Gradutes from Greek Universities UOB Professor Dr Imad Zakhem.
The distinguished guest Ms. Koukoulopoulou was warmly welcomed at the institute by the Dean, Fathers,Professors, and students. The event featured engaging dialogue with the students, Greek hymns and chants, as well as spiritual readings from contemporary Fathers of the Holy Mountain and other Greek monasteries. The gathering, conversation, and hymns continued over a meal at the institute.
ببركة صاحب الغبطة يوحنّا العاشر بطريرك أنطاكية وسائر المشرق، احتفل معهد القدّيس يوحنّا الدمشقيّ اللاهوتيّ بعيد اللغة اليونانيّة السنويّ، بحضور سفيرة اليونان في بيروت السيّدة ذسبينا كوكولوبولو. كان في استقبالها في المعهد العميد والآباء والأساتذة والطلّاب ، كما حضر رئيس رابطة خريجي جامعات اليونان الأستاذ في جامعة البلمند د. عماد الزاخم. ثمّ كان لقاء تخلّله حوار مع الطلّاب وتراتيل وأناشيد يونانيّة، وقراءات روحيّة من آباء معاصرين في الجبل المقدّس وأديار يونانيّة أخرى. واستمرّ اللقاء والحوار والتسبيح على مائدة المعهد.
